ESCO Youth Leaders will be gathering at Salt Creek Sports Center on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 2:00-3:30PM for our annual MLK Day of Service. We will be making fleece scarves and gathering personal care products, which we will donate to Journeys | The Road Home.
Journeys is a local non-profit agency that provides shelter, social services and housing to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in 37 towns in north/northwest suburban Cook County.
What you need for the scarf project:
- 1-2 Yards of Fleece – Patterned or Plain colors that can be used by ALL ages and genders.
- SHARP SCISSORS! – Fleece is very difficult to cut if you don’t have sharp scissors. If you have extras, please label them and bring to share.
- A Sharpie marker to add a personal note to your scarves.
We are collecting the following items:
- Full sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for housed clients
- Deodorant
- Q-tips
- Feminine hygiene products
- Travel sized packets of tissue
- Reflective tape
